Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Adukoo ("we", "us", "our") is a worldwide online marketplace operated by Adukoo Tech. You can reach us at reachus@adukoo.com.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email address, hashed password.
• Listing data: product title, description, images, price, inventory quantity, category, condition, seller name, contact phone and email, and location (state, city, pincode).
• Chat messages you exchange with buyers or sellers on Adukoo.
• Sale records: when a seller marks an item sold, we record the quantity, price, buyer name (if provided) and date.
• Device data (mobile app only, optional): camera access to take product photos, GPS location to auto-fill city/pincode. These are opt-in and can be revoked in your phone's Settings at any time.
• Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and anonymized usage logs for security and abuse prevention.

3. How we use your data

• To operate the marketplace — publish your listing, show search results, deliver chat messages, and record sales on your dashboard.
• To authenticate you and protect your account (bcrypt password hashing, JWT access tokens).
• To show buyers your seller name, phone and email on your public listing so they can contact you.
• To help admins review and remove inappropriate, illegal, or fraudulent listings.
• To send important service emails to reachus@adukoo.com-replied threads and, in the mobile app, push notifications (only if you opt in).
• To improve Adukoo based on aggregated analytics (total listings, total sales, top categories).

4. When we share data

We do not sell your data. We share information only:

• With buyers — the public fields of your listing (title, description, photos, price, stock, city, state, seller name, phone, email) are visible to anyone browsing Adukoo. Do not list anything you wouldn't want public.
• With service providers — MongoDB Atlas (database), our hosting provider, and email/SMS providers for transactional notifications. These parties process data only on our instructions.
• When legally required — in response to valid court orders or law-enforcement requests under the applicable law of your jurisdiction or ours.

5. Data retention

Active listings are kept until you delete them or admins remove them. Chat messages are retained as long as the related listing exists. Sale records are retained for up to 7 years for tax and accounting compliance in jurisdictions where this is required. You can delete your account by emailing reachus@adukoo.com; we'll delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it by law.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, port or erase your personal data, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority (e.g. India's DPDP Act 2023, the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA, the UAE PDPL or other equivalent laws in your jurisdiction). 7. Children's privacy

Adukoo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us for removal.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, bcrypt-hashed passwords, JWT access tokens, MongoDB with access controls, and security headers (X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy) on all responses. No system is 100% secure; report suspected vulnerabilities to reachus@adukoo.com.

9. Permissions (mobile app)

• Camera: used only to capture product photos when you tap "Add Photo".
• Photo library: used to pick existing photos for listings.
• Location (GPS): used only when you tap "Auto-detect" to fill state/city/pincode. No background tracking.
• Notifications: used only to alert you of new chat messages or listing activity. You can disable in Settings.

10. Advertising, cookies & third-party ad networks

Adukoo lets users post Ads and open Digital Stores at no listing fee today. To support this, we display third-party advertising on the website and in our mobile app:

• Google AdSense (website) — Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on Adukoo. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to Adukoo and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (or any of the opt-outs at aboutads.info).
• Google AdMob (Android app) — Inside our Android app we show ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect a resettable advertising identifier and limited interaction data to serve relevant ads and prevent ad fraud. EEA/UK users are shown a Google UMP consent form on first launch and can change their choice anytime under Settings → Privacy & Ads.
• Affiliate / referral links — Some listings in our Sponsored Ads row are affiliate or promotional links to partners like Amazon, Flipkart, EarnKaro, Admitad and MakeMyTrip. Sponsored content may include products, services, videos, news and other promotional drops. When you click such a link and engage (purchase, sign-up, view, etc.), Adukoo may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The partner's own privacy policy governs any transaction you make there.
• Third-party providers we use — Google AdSense, Google AdMob, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent management. These vendors' own privacy policies are available at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
• What we DO NOT do — Adukoo does not sell your personal data to advertisers, does not share your account email/phone with ad networks, and does not show targeted ads to users we know to be under 18.

If you live in the EU/UK, EEA, India (DPDP), California (CCPA), Brazil (LGPD) or the UAE (PDPL), you can revoke advertising consent at any time by clearing cookies for adukoo.com in your browser, or by emailing reachus@adukoo.com with the subject “Ad consent revoked”.

11. Advertising and AdSense (third-party cookies)

Adukoo displays a small number of clearly-labelled Sponsored slots powered by Google AdSense. To serve these ads, Google and its third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, and the device advertising identifier to:

• Show ads based on your interests (interest-based / personalised advertising).
• Measure ad effectiveness and frequency (so you don't see the same ad endlessly).
• Detect ad fraud and invalid clicks.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads (Google) or at aboutads.info (a coalition of digital-advertising networks). Opting out doesn't remove ads — you'll still see them, just not personalised to your interests.

Adukoo does NOT use any other ad network at this time. We do not run remarketing pixels, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or similar trackers. If that changes we will update this section and notify all registered users at least 14 days in advance.

Visitors from the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland are presented with Google's standard EU User Consent dialog on first visit, in compliance with the GDPR + ePrivacy Directive. Visitors from California can exercise their CCPA "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" rights by emailing reachus@adukoo.com with the subject line "CCPA Opt-Out".

12. Cookies we set ourselves (first-party)

We use a minimal set of first-party cookies, all strictly necessary for the platform to function:

• access_token (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=None) — keeps you logged in. Expires after 7 days of inactivity.
• aduku_token (localStorage) — same purpose, used by the mobile app.
• aduku_country (localStorage) — remembers the country you selected so prices and distances are localized.
• aduku_lang (localStorage) — remembers your interface language preference.

We don't use first-party analytics cookies, A/B testing cookies, or persistent tracking cookies of any kind. Page-view statistics are computed server-side from anonymized request logs.

13. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
